As of this evening, our song THURSDAY AFTERNOON, is playing on the Earbits radio!!
Listen to us on Earbits Free Online radio!!
All you have to do is to hit the link below to check it out!!

Before sending our stuff in to them, our geetar man A Chapel had his current gal friend check it out and she gave it the big huge thumbs up, saying there were only cool songs on there. And she outta know about cool songs, right?

So, check it out. And later, gator.

Music2yourears blog has FAIE on it

Hello, hello.

It's always a nice morning when you see something you've done featured on a blog site, and especially on the Music2yourears blog, with the link below;

 There's some very cool things on the blog, even though it's not in our style of music, but as the prophet F Zappa said, music is music, specially when it's good. Check it out.

Speaking of checking it out, check out this cool arty pic from Dot E nyn of our geetar man Ambrose Chapel.

Very 60s yes? Very 60s yes. Think AC looks a little pissed doesn't he? Think AC looks a lot pissed. Like someone told him they wanted his guitar back.

And I'm gonna say it, even though I didn't come up with it (our engineer Roy did) but
hey Dot E!! Warhol called and he wants his camera back!! Just kidding. Really. Just kidding.

But he did call. And he does want his camera back.

Love the the thumbnail from video...but...

Hello, hello.

Love the thumbnail that our guys came up with for the video of the song THURSDAY AFTERNOON. Cool brick street, which was mentioned a few times in the song. And yes indeed that is me walking down that brick street...way off in the distance...so that you can hardly notice who the heck that is...

Ok, so I got that out. Now, as to my real feelings about the video.

I really wanted to do more of a performance thing, more like a video showing us playing and all. Now it's not that I don't appreciate the very dreamy kind of thing they came up with, and I know only too well the cost of doing videos, but I wish we'd have done more of a performance thing.

Someone suggested that we should've gotten involved with Kickstarter for coming up with funds to make a more performance like video, and maybe we should've. I dunno. And in all fairness, the guys came up with a decent presentable work while working on like a half a shoestring budget.

So, at least I got that out there. And that makes me feel a little bit better. A little bit.

So as I look over to the kickstarter page in hopes of the next video, I bid adieu.

New single THURSDAY AFTERNOON released

Well, it's NEW RELEASE MONDAY so that must mean that our new single, THURSDAY AFTERNOON is officially released.
Shiny and brand spanking new, the single is now available from iTunes and other fine online music retailers.

I couldn't feel prouder as we are all very happy with the way the song came out with that ultra cool extra mellow guitar hook planted in there by guest artist Oglethorpe Brown.

So...there you go.

Art work that made us choose artist for new single cover

Hey all;

Just thought it would be interesting if you saw the art work that made us choose Dot E (ny/ny) as the artist to do our new single cover THURSDAY AFTERNOON.

Below is the work, called "POWER STATION # A-313";

Pretty cool hey? Still like the look of it.

iTunes is categorizing new single as alternative

Hey all.

Just found out from the pre-sale page of iTunes that our new single, THURSDAY AFTERNOON

is being listed as alternative rock. You can see it in the screen shot below;

 Not sure if I agree with the listing category they will have it under. Thought it was more of a country/indie/rock thing to it. Oh well, I guess the company of Steve knows best...knows best.

Later, later.

Yet Another Alternative cover for the upcoming single THURSDAY AFTERNOON

Uh oh. Not another alternative cover that was considered for the new upcoming single!! Oh no.

Yes indeed. Below is one more cover option we had for the single;

Actually that's us rolling up for the rehearsal on a coolish morning. Stylish but a little too Andy Warholly-ish.

Oh well.

Carry on.

Just thought this might be interesting. Below is one of the other options we had for the cover of the new single, THURSDAY AFTERNOON. Art print below is by the artist DOt E.

Still like this one a lot. I'd like to make a poster of it.

Anyway, thought it would be interesting to display.

Do we need full length CDs anymore and more pics

Hey all.

Got into an interesting conversation yesterday about music sales. With the advent of online music packaged as single mp3s, or whatever file you like, is it really necessary to make full length CDs anymore. Why not just send out singles every time you're done with some music.

Let me be the first to say that I wouldn't have music sold any other way. If there's 2 songs I like from an artist I can just purchase those 2 songs and go on my merry way. I don't have to plunk down 10 bucks for whole CD. So I love it.

Now Mike Jdanders, an engineer we sometime use, claims that if that were so, that we would just send out singles all the time for our fans, then concept music like Sgt. Pepper, or Freak Out, or anything by Yorke, would've never been made. Mike may have a point there, but now we as fans can make our own Pepper CD, with our song favorites and sequence them any way we like. I've got a home made burn of all the songs I love from BNP and I think it's the best CD they never made.

Mike shook his head and waved his hand at me, claiming I will never get it. Maybe so, but I will not get it all the time I'm listening to my own personal CDs. As the old saying goes, I know what I like.

The fine artist who did the cover for upcoming CD, Dot E from myny, (actually hisNY) sent me this pic he worked on. Dot took photos from a recent rehearsal and then did his arty magic on it;
It's hard to see who's all in there but you can definitely make me out to the right of the saturated star thing on Mike A's head. Wonder what Dot is trying to say about Mike...

 And so. It. Goes.

New single cover

Hey all.

Fun couple of weeks working with some new people on some music, and that's always a cool thing. There's this slide guitar guy named Justin Case we met and he sure does make that instrument sing. He put down a few tracks that we might use on new single.
 And talking about single...
 Pretty sure that the cover for the new single is done. Check it out below;
Very pop/art comic style. Done by artist named Dot E from NY, NY. Think it looks pretty good, although I've always had a hankering for more traditional stuff, like landscapes, etc.
But it sure does catch the eye.

The song should be up on iTunes and other fine online music stores within a week or so.

Guess that's all for now.

Basic Track of upcoming song Pt 1

Hey all.

I wasn't sure if this would be interesting or not, but recently an interviewer asked me where my ideas come from for songs. I tried to explain it but it didn't come out very well. Sounded too wishy washy. So I thought it might be interesting to go thru the basic steps of an upcoming song that might be called THEN AGAIN...but then again, it might not be called that. Could be called something else altogether. Hm...that's a nice title...

So. First things first. The way I do it, and this isn't the only way or the right way, but I need to have basic tracks laid down. Then as I listen to the tracks I get an idea or two. Or I don't. Depends on where I am that day as far as mood, weather, etc, but that's where I start.

So. The track, and it might be re-arranged as the song grows, is right below on our Soundcloud. Just some strumming, noodling really, some licks thrown in and there we go.

As you can hear, it's just some chords, no middle 8 yet, like lyric then chorus then lyric then chorus. So far I'm getting like a sea song maybe. Or traveling song. Who knows. The thing is to have fun doing it.

So. There you go. As I continue to work on this new song, which might be called THEN AGAIN and then again might not be called that, I will blog more info and let you listen in.

And of course our prayers go out to Randy Travis. Stay strong. RT.

All time fav cover QUE SERA SERA

There are so many great cover songs out there, and you could spend all your time playing them. So for the B side of the ME ME ME single

I decided to perform a very simple cover of a childhood fav, QUE SERA SERA. Below is the Soundcloud link;

Sometimes the simpler way is the best. And besides D Day did it her way so well no one should even entertain the idea of surpassing her version.

And of course the single is available for some small change;

Ok and all right then.

the song ME ME ME

Hi, hi, hi.

Just wanted to push this old thing out there, first single;

and the song ME ME ME, which can be heard from Soundcloud below;

Really the song isn't as egocentric as it sounds...well, maybe a little.

Not as country/rock as I like. More alt/country rock.

But of course it's available for sale;

Isn't the top hat just the best?
